Samuel Mulugeta, a musician and graduate of the Yared School of Music at Addis Ababa University, serves as the Country Director of Selam, an international non-governmental organization specializing in culture’s role in driving social change. His journey began as a music educator at Wollo University, coupled with performances at the National Theatre of Ethiopia.
In 2015, Samuel embraced a new chapter when he joined Selam, contributing his talents to their cutting-edge music production studio. Since January 2017, he has held the role of Country Director at Selam. Additionally, he assumes the role of operational manager for Muzikawi, an income-generating branch of Selam. Muzikawi operates as a comprehensive music business entity, covering record labels, publishing, artist management, studio services, and event promotion, notably the Addis Jazz Festival.
Samuel’s profound expertise in music and culture uniquely positions him to lead Selam in its mission of leveraging culture for social change. He ardently champions culture’s ability to unite people and foster a more equitable and just society.
